Prog metal in hijabs: All-girl band The Voice of Baceprot from Indonesia
The video about the Indonesian metal band Voice Of Baceprot, consisting of three young Muslim girls, guitarist/vocalist Firdda Kurnia, bassist/vocalist Widi Rahmawati, and drummer Euis Siti, is gaining popularity in the network. Above, you can check out the live video with the trio performing their own song "The Enemy of Earth is You".
Voice Of Baceprot was formed by three school friends in 2014 in Garut, West Java, Indonesia. According to the Geo.tv interview, the girls "use their music to combat the stereotype of Muslim women as submissive or voiceless", but still not everyone of their compatriots consider their music and hijab performances appropriate.

In addition to performing cover versions of Metallica’s and Slipknot’s songs (one of which can be found below), the trio also has several original compositions raising questions about the state of education in Indonesia, etc.
