Possessed to release their first album in 30 years

The American thrash/death metallers Possessed has signed a contract with Nuclear Blast to release their third album in 2018. The new record will be the band’s first full-length release after 32 years. Above you can watch the trailer that includes a short snippet of demo of a new song.

The vocalist and founding member Jeff Becerra comments:

"Possessed are pleased and honored to announce our joining the Nuclear Blast family. Currently, we are hard at work writing new material for our upcoming first full-length release on Nuclear Blast. I want to give special thanks to everybody at Nuclear Blast, and to all of our supporters. This has been a long time coming and this is a very exciting time for us."

Possessed’s two full-length albums "Seven Churches" and "Beyond the Gates" came out in 1985 and 1986. In 1987, the musicians released the 5-track EP "Eyes Of Horror", produced by Joe Satriani, however, soon after they announced disbanding. In 1990, the guitarist Mike Torrao revived Possessed with the ex-members of Machine Head and Pro-Pain, releasing two demos in 1991 and 1993, and then again announcing Possessed’s dissolution. After the band’s leader Jeff Becerra was shot twice by two different gunmen in 1992, it would be seventeen and a half years before Jeff was again able to resurrect Possessed with renewed line-up.
