"The Rolling Stones: Havana Moon" concert film to be shown on November 1 in Ukraine
"The Rolling Stones: Havana Moon", dedicated to the first performance of a cult rock band in Cuba in 2016, will be shown at the cinemas of Ukraine on Wednesday, November 1.
Havana Moon is a concert film by the Rolling Stones, directed by Paul Dugdale. Havana Moon was filmed on 25 March 2016 in Havana, Cuba. The film is a recording of a free outdoor concert put on by the band at the Ciudad Deportiva de la Habana sports complex, which was attended by an estimated 500,000 concert-goers. The concert marked the first time a rock band had performed in Cuba to such a large crowd.
"For the first time ever in their 50 year long career, The Rolling Stones played in Havana, the capital of Cuba. The movie shows how music can work as tool of social improvement."
Thousands of people gathered to listen to the immortal hits "Jumpin' Jack Flash", "It's Only Rock-n-Roll", "Paint It Black", "Honky Tonk Women, Start Me Up", "You Can not Always Get What You Want", "Gimme Shelter", "Brown Sugar", "Satisfaction" and new songs.
Paul Dugdale, who worked on films about Adele and Coldplay, captured this historic event, and borrowed the title from the beautiful song of Chuck Berry, presented a live film "The Rolling Stones: Havana Moon".

British rockers gave an incredible show for the millions of fans who gathered in Havana. The press noted that the concert was a turning point for the whole state, opening new opportunities for the media and all the Cuban rock music fans. Mick Jagger greeted the crowd with the words: "Finally, the times are changing," and jokingly introduced the band’s members "Revolutionary Ronnie Wood" and "Charlie Che Watts", then he gave up the microphone for "mi compadre Keith Richards".
The film's sessions, thanks to KyivMusicFilm, will be held on November 1 in the Kyiv-based cinema "Ukraina", in the cinemas of "Planeta Kino", as well as in the cinemas Wizoria Kyiv and Wizoria Poltava.
