Inquisition unveil new cover art for "Ominous Doctrines of the Perpetual Mystical Macrocosm"

The American black metallers Inquisition reissue the album "Ominous Doctrines of the Perpetual Mystical Macrocosm" of 2011. It's going to come out on May 18 via Season of Mist.

The album will be released with a new cover art, made by the Italian artist Paolo Girardi, who previously has worked on the cover for the band's "Obscure Verses For The Multiverse".

The idea for the album's new design belongs to the Season of Mist's CEO Michael Berberian, who was inspired by medieval altar painting such as the triptych "The Last Judgment" by Hans Memling. Paolo Girardi has realized this concept and adapted it for the black metal style. Below you can read the artist's comment.

"I will put 'my own seed' in these paintings, as always. This opportunity, this path gives me the possibility to dive, breathe, live inside my roots; handing them down to nowadays' people. It's a deep emotion for me being part of past, present and future, all in the same time. INQUISITION's spirit is the same: tradition, roots and avant-garde at the same time, never forgetting our natural, earthly, temporal, passing... human limits. This is how I 'see' our collaboration. Time and space: they disappear when you feel as one with your path," — Paolo Girardi
