Google launches a virtual tour of the legendary Abbey Road Studios
Google has launched a new project
"Inside Abbey Road" — an interactive tour of the London recording studio, where many well-known groups have recorded their albums, as well many soundtracks to popular movies and games have been written.
The Beatles, Duran Duran, The Shadows, Pink Floyd, Oasis, U2, Nightwish, Radiohead, Lacrimosa, and many others bands have recorded their music at Abbey Road.
The visitor are able to "walk" through the studio, accompanied by brief explanations of the producer Giles Martin. During the tour you will notice multicolored icons, located in different parts of the Abbey Road. Clicking on them you can watch videos about the musicians who have recorded their albums here, see photos of celebrities, taken in the midst of their work, read interesting information about the history of the studio and iconic personalities who were there and also find out many other things.
You also have the opportunity to record your own song with the widget The J37 four-track, try yourself as a sound engineer with The Mixing Desk, experiment with Tape Effects and carefully consider the unique collection of microphones in The Mic Collection.
At the studio a lot of soundtracks for blockbusters, including "Star Wars: Episode 1 — The Phantom Menace," "Avatar," "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies," as well as music for the series of Harry Potter films, have been created there.
