Ukrainian Railways to be headed by rocker from Poland
The Nominations Committee of Ukraine's Ministry of Economic Development and Trade chose the Pole Wojciech Balczun as the chairman of Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia). It is reported by UNIAN referring to the Minister Aivaras Abromavicius’ statement.
"The Polish citizen Wojciech Balczun has been selected to chair "Ukrzaliznytsia". Wojciech is young, but he is a super successful head of the largest companies in Poland," Abromavicius says. "A successful person is successful in everything. He is like the Polish Slava Vakarchuk [the frontman of the popular Ukrainian rock band Okean Elzy], he is the leader of one of the most successful rock bands in Poland. For 4 years, he has headed the Supervisory Board of LOT Polish Airlines."
In April 2012, Wojciech Balczun was selected to chairman the Supervisory Board of LOT Polish Airlines. At the same time, he served as the Vice-President of the Employers of Poland. In addition, Balczun is the leader and guitarist of the rock band Chemia.
